The Media Lounge (TML) – Dubai Media City

Tucked between the high rise buildings in Dubai Media City exists a hidden gem that goes by the name The Media Lounge. Clients of Yalla Eat, an upcoming food ordering website, The Media Lounge were welcoming hosts to my guest and me.

A little sceptical at first spotting the shisha and large screen television displayed indoors, (I’m allergic to shisha and all that comes with it. I also believe that shisha places serve pretty mediocre food. Tried and tested at several places) I was a little hesitant about our meal that was about to proceed.

The menu basically has two cuisines; Italian and Arabic. Again, something I wasn’t surprised with, as most of the shisha joints serve kebabs and pasta. Luckily, I saw pretty interesting options on the menu and decided to choose something different.

Our starters were Dynamite Shrimps (AED 34) and Fried Jalapeno Balls (AED 21). Both great and crispy. A perfect appetiser to start your meal.

We later settled for a Mixed Grill (AED 49) and Truffle Gnocchi (AED 40). Big portions. That’s what we saw first. The sauce was great for the latter dish with a subtle hint of truffle. I felt the size of these potato dumplings could have been a bit smaller as it overpowered the sauce and each bite was more of the potato than the sauce.

The Mixed Grill though looked appealing but failed due to being overly cooked to the point that it was charred in some places. Upon inquiring, we were told that the Arabic Chef had left and this was prepared by the Italian one. Although another source who visited at a different time felt the meat was succulent and juicy. Should give this another try…

Our meal soon came to an end with the delectable Tiramisu and a Molten Lava Cake (AED 23 each). Both of these were quite good and stayed true to their taste. The Molten Lava Cake deserves a special mention here as the cake was served warm with a gooey chocolate interior.

The service is friendly and for people like me, it’s best to be seated outdoors to really enjoy your meal.

Is it wrong to #crave #Tiramisu this early in the morning? 😍

If I’m coming back: Dubai Media City with its confusing directions seems to be quite a disadvantage in providing ease of access. In spite of which if I am visiting again, I’d surely indulge in their desserts again!

Until then, happy eating! xx
